Pregnancy & New Motherhood Photography
Central Victoria Film Photographer
Pregnancy and early motherhood, as it actually feels.
Hi, I’m Jen
I’m a photographer based in Central Victoria, working with women who want something honest and considered.
I’m drawn to the quieter moments—the ones that are easy to overlook while you’re in them, but end up meaning the most later.
This work is an extension of that.
A way of documenting this season without interrupting it.
A slow, considered approach
There’s no pressure to perform in these sessions.
No need to have everything together.
No expectation for your home to look a certain way.
Slow . Comfy . Unrushed.
Whether that’s pregnancy, or the early days with your baby.
In your home
All sessions take place in your home, anywhere across Central Victoria, and Melbourne.
Because this is where you’re most yourself.
Where your baby feels settled.
Where this season is already unfolding.
We’ll use the light, the space, and whatever the day brings.
Why film
I photograph these sessions on analogue film.
Film changes the pace. It asks for presence, for patience, for intention.
It captures light and texture in a way that feels soft and lasting—something closer to memory than something overly polished.
It also brings back the nostalgia of those beautiful family albums many of us grew up with!

Frequently Asked Questions
-
Most women choose to be photographed between 28–36 weeks, when your belly is visible but you’re still relatively comfortable. That said, there’s no strict rule—earlier or later can work just as well depending on how you’re feeling.
-
There’s no “perfect” window. These sessions aren’t about posed newborn images, so we can photograph your baby in those early weeks, or a little later once you’ve found your rhythm at home.
-
Not at all. Your home doesn’t need to look a certain way. We’ll work with the light and the spaces that feel most comfortable to you—nothing is styled or overly arranged. If you would prefer to use an alternative space such as an Airbnb or the outdoors just let me know, it’s whatever feels best for you.
-
Simple, comfortable clothing works best. Pieces you feel like you can lounge in—nothing too structured or trend-driven. I’m always happy to guide you if you’re unsure.
-
Film slows the process down and encourages a more considered way of photographing. It captures light and texture in a softer, more timeless way—something that feels closer to memory than something overly polished.
-
To lock in your date, a signed contract and a non refundable 25% deposit will be required. The final amount will be due two weeks before our session.

Yes! I feel so passionate about printing your photos to sit in your home or to slot into a physical album. However, I know it can feel daunting to know where to start! Your basic retailers never quite do your photos justice. Let me know any photos you would like printed and I can assist with quality fine art prints, created in Melbourne, made to last.

I am based in Castlemaine but travel across Central Vic, and Melbourne. Let me know your location and I can advise if any travel fee’s are required.
